Seaside FarmsWhat is it like working on Seaside Farms, also known as AGLP’s most favorite place to stay and shop in Alaska? It’s a wonderful and beautiful place; any of the participants would tell you. It has a great view of the ocean and is a wonderful place to be because of the environment all around. “It’s also fun, enjoyable, and a good experience, says two workers on the farm. Two workers on Seaside Farm are Neal and Luke. Neal, isn’t even from the United States, but being from Liverpool England. This being his first summer working on the farm, is here because his girlfriend is working on the same farm, too. He works and lives on the farm during summer because he likes the summer hours. “I enjoy my job, and I really love the scenery I’m surrounded by,” says Neal. The other worker on the farm is Luke, from Western New York. Luke came last fall, and has really liked it here so far. He tells me, “ I came back for the summer for a place to stay and for a job. I really love how Alaska is not as busy as New York, explains Luke.” They both are beginning to work on the farm this year and for the summers to come. While they’re at their jobs they feed and water the horses, take care of the chickens, bail hay, and do some ground work. Normal duties a person who works on a farm would have. Most likely, if you come back or if you come next year, you will be seeing these hard workers on this lovely farm we call Seaside Farms. So don’t be afraid to say hello. Just look for two friendly guys doing tough guy stuff on the farm. |
